024a11bVuyani is currently a director and shareholder of a number of businesses, in South Africa and around the world, focusing on renewable energy, specifically solar PV. He is a director of Africa’s Energy Footprint; SWV Investments, the family’s investment holding company and Bryco Energy Consortium, a Barbados-registered company. He has been involved in the solar PV industry since 2010, after working tirelessly to deliver a 5MW project to bankable stage to the Department of Energy. He spent some time consulting to Solarcentury, an international EPC company to gain additional experience in the solar PV market, especially rooftop installations.

Vuyani spent 16 years in the asset management and commercial property industry in various companies such as Marriott (8 years), Investec (6 years) and 2 years as fund manager for the R30bn Liberty Property Portfolio, whilst at Stanlib. Vuyani completed an undergraduate degree in B. Admin (Economics) from the University of the Western Cape and went on to an MBA (Strategic Financial Management) from University of KwaZulu-Natal. His thesis on Listed Property was published in local and international investment journals.

Bongani Mrara (BScEng, Pr Eng, MBA) — Projects Director

Bt7eTkUIEAA1VOjBongani is a professional engineer who has worked in a number of mining companies such as AngloGold Ashanti and De Beers as a maintenance and projects engineer, with 16 years’ experience. He has delivered numerous projects on time and on budget throughout his career. He left the mining sector to pursue business opportunities in the renewable energy sector, and has worked with One Energy as a franchisee covering the Vaal area on the installation of solar thermal and PV systems for residential and commercial projects for a number of years. His role at SWV Energy is that of Projects Director, responsible for the technical deliverables of all projects.  His qualifications are an undergraduate BSc Eng degree from University of KwaZulu-Natal, and an MBA from Wits University.
